Slowly but surely (and then I’m going to bed)
I know, crazy. I’m on a blogging roll tonight.
3-19-2008: the night before the surgery (awww, look how babyish)

3-27-08: one week post op

3-9-09
I can see a change! Slowly, but surely. Maybe by next summer she won’t be stared at or questioned by other kids.

Wanna know something?
I think I need to deal with some anxiety issues.
I was sitting at the intersection where the gas station is that Lovey had her seizure.
I noticed I was breathing heavy.
I started to tear up.
It’s been about 30 minutes and I still can’t shake it off.
I think about that Dec. 14 day a lot.
Probaby too much.

This girl…

Her latest “I’mgoingtoscaremymommyintoanearlygrave” incident.
She’s fine now. The x-rays did not show a fracture. She just pulled a muscle. All she says is she fell, she makes a crashing sound, and says ‘pink chair’. She was at her little Kids Day Out. Her not moving her head was enough to scare me but then the doctor at the urgent care place told me to take her to the ER, do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not even put her in her carseat. Apparently, the ER didn’t think it was too big of an emergency. Nevermind that if it were a fracture and she moved the wrong way, something very bad could’ve happened (that is from the mouth of the urgent care doc). It was 7 SEVEN hours before we were even taken back to a room. Every state Medicaid kid with a runny nose or ring worm was at the ER that day, too. Forgive me if I sound insensitive. That’s just how it is.
She let me take off the brace after about 36 hourse. She said it made her boo boo feel better to wear it. She’s a good little patient, bless her heart. She’s not scared of doctors.
Now, if I could only get those 8 1/2 hours I spent in the ER with her back…
And just to throw it in….this amazing girl is also potty trained except for bedtime. Even at the hospital, she went potty (believe you me that I covered that potty with that paper potty sheet). She goes everywhere in her big girl panties (or underwear, whatever her mood is). But, yes, that is a paci in her mouth. That’s another day.
She continues to amaze me every day, this girl.

Livin’ La Vida Lovey
Why haven’t I thought of that title before?!
Anyway, I was going to give an update on my sweet oh my you should see her tantrums girl, but my hand is hurting.
And I’m tired.
Let’s just say, she’s doing very well, but still having an issue that keeps us seeing the ENT. I’ll be back later to dish out the details.
Toodles.

Picture Tuesday. What? Never heard of that?
Last week, my niece’s cheerleading squad cheered during half-time at a Lady Tigers basketball game.

Lovey LOVED Pouncer! She even warmed up enough to him to give him high five!

Not only am I turning 30 this year…
This little tidbit of an email struck a chord with me. What chord, not sure, but maybe the ‘you’re getting older, why haven’t you figured out what you want to be, why aren’t you done with school YET’ chord.
The Adult and Commuter Student Services Office and the Adult Student Association of The University of Memphis wish to congratulate you for qualifying for membership in PINNACLE, the Honor Society for Adult /Non-traditional Students.
Pfft.

I am thankful…
I have absolutely no idea what my new year’s resolutions are.
I do know that my day at school today totally knocked me down.
I felt completely lost in both classes.
I was ready to throw in the towel.
Then I realized just how close I am.
Three months.
It’s going to be a long three months.
What I do need? Is to voice be more aware of the positive things in my life.
* I’m thankful for the ability to go to school.
* I’m thankful for my nice, warm comfortable bed at night.
* I’m thankful that we don’t have to eat Ramen noodles for dinner.
* I’m thankful for the pay cut hubby had to take. It’s better than a job cut!
* I’m thankful for warm baths, twice in one day if I want.
Tonight, I feel like being thankful for my material things. I’m just in that mood.
